The weather isn’t so great for gardening in December, but the work still doesn’t stop. Meeting up with the Shelley Street garden group we put our heads together to make a layout plan and to agree a schedule for the woodwork workshops in February where the group will learn how to make their garden furniture.
To solve the issue of lack of water on site, the group have included a lean-to shelter, with drainage to collect rainwater feeding into a water butt.
The group of residents have decided to add two solid raised beds (two high enough), beds for root vegetables, a wildflower corner, benches and paths to enable access for wheelchair users onto the site and around the raised beds.
