Hoping to improve on our silver awards gained in 2021 and 2022, Bootle entered the prestigious RHS In Bloom competition for the fourth time this year. Joining other more experienced In-Bloom locations in Sefton we welcomed the North West in Bloom judges on 17th August and hope to be taking home a silver gilt award at the awards ceremony later this year.
In Bloom brings residents, organisations and community businesses together to green up our streets and improve Bootle for everyone, led by Ali Horton from the Taking Root in Bootle team who observed: “Bootle is not the sort of place that traditionally would enter the In-Bloom competition, but we have been working tirelessly over the last few years to green up our town and local area. Bootle is now home to fantastic community gardens, beautiful wildflower meadows and street planters and entering In Bloom is an opportunity to show just how green and vibrant Bootle is.” Thanks to Sefton Council for supporting the volunteers and community organisations with entering the competition.
Bootle in Bloom is co-ordinated by Taking Root in Bootle.
