Growing Circle 3 members in the Poets Streets neighbourhood have been regularly topping up the community composts with their food scraps to make their own organic compost.
We invited everyone along to collect some compost to freshen up their front yard growing planters and trugs and took the opportunity to ask what ideas they might have to improve the green space at the Shelley Street site where the compost system is located. Not put off by the weather we had a great turnout and everyone said they’d love to have a community garden where they can grow more vegetables, along with a seating area for a bit of a rest after the gardening or a quiet space for reflection.
