In January community gardeners from Taking Root member North Park had their first session on the canal after adopting the stretch from Stand Road to Litherland Bridge and committing to work on it once a month. Starting to get on top of the litter on the towpath side and in the canal itself, they plan to plant on the towpath side and in the summer work with the Canal and Rivers Trust to use canoes to litter pick and plant on the far side of the canal.
