Things start to get even busier in June for the Taking Root in Bootle team and all our community growers as we head full steam towards Bootle in Bloom and the RHS Flower Show at Tatton. Planning starts months before in the depths of winter, but now it’s all about tending the plants and nurturing the shoots to make sure everything is at its peak for judging day.

All the community groups that take part look after their own gardens and parks, but everyone gets together to brighten up the judges’ route, now affectionately known as our ‘Friday Tidy’ adding to greener streets in Bootle.
