Members enjoy festive fun events

December 2019

Celebrating the festive season is always lots of fun, and this year was no different as across the south of the borough, Taking Root members put on wreath-making workshops, organised a Santa grotto in South Park and also a stripped-back Christmas event in North Park. Meanwhile, groups of volunteers from Lotus Brook and the Gateway Collective who have been working on the transformation of Stanley Road into a growing corridor didn’t go out in the cold as usual in December, but instead got together to make and eat Christmas dinner assisted by the Ykids community chef. These fun events are just as important as any growing activities as they bring people together to enjoy each other’s company, make connections and grow community.
