Work on sprucing up Martin’s Garden gets started

September 2018

September saw lots of planning and preparation once the kids went back to school.

Our groups met up to come up with more ideas for Bootle in Bloom, the first submission from Bootle to RHS Town In Bloom, creating an opportunity for our members to work together, connecting themes across their gardens.

Meanwhile, at the Taking Root ‘Doers’ Get Together in May 2018, one of our work task groups decided that the project they wanted to get on with was helping to spruce up Martin’s Garden.

As part of wider plans to beautify Knowsley Road, Kindfulness Coffee Club submitted a successful proposal to the Environmental Improvements Fund to get things started.

Volunteers from nine different Taking Root members got together to help clean up an area that had fallen into a state of disrepair and was messy and overgrown.

The group are holding clean-up events on the first Monday in the month until March 2019 – get down there and give them a hand!
